The average humidity best suited for a wine cellar should be between 55 and 75%. More or less significant periodic variations can occur without affecting the bottles.
If the humidity in the cellar is systematically above 80%, first of all check the FSTY setting of the indoor unit’s ventilation (see commissioning manual).
This parameter is used to define the state of the fan when the cellar has reached its temperature and humidity points.
3 setting options:
-GV: factory setting, the fan remains at its nominal operating speed to ensure maximum circulation of the air in the cellar. Disadvantage, the water contained in the tray under the evaporator continues to humidify the air circulating in the device, which depending on the configuration of the cellar can increase the humidity too much.
-PV: The fan switches to low speed for devices equipped with multi-speed fans (EVA2, H2OA, EVG, EVI, MPCG, MPCA). In this case, the air is mixed with little impact on humidification.
-OFF: As soon as the temperature and humidity points are reached, the cellar ventilation stops. The first value on demand will restart the air conditioning or humidification system.

Solution :
Before any other operation, switch the ventilation to OFF if ever the humidity in the cellar is too high. It may take a few days to return to normal humidity depending on the case.
If, despite this, the humidity remains too high, check with a hygrometer that the value of the probe is correct. If this is not the case, calibrate the probe (See commissioning manual).
Check that the appliance’s condensates are properly evacuated outside and do not saturate the atmosphere of the cellar.
Check that no outside ventilation interferes with the operation of the air conditioning and does not add excess humidity.
Install a Winesupervisor 3 which will make it possible to check the stability of the temperature and humidity and to carry out technical analyzes on the operation of the cellar.

If, despite this, the humidity in the cellar remains too high, contact your installer or your distributor, who will contact Friax customer service.

When unboxing your WineSupervisor 3 contains the following elements:

Follow these few steps to access your online cellar:

1. Connect the RJ45 cable 🌐

Connect the RJ45 cable (supplied) to connect the WineSupervisor to your internet network.

Like the remote control of your device, the box can be moved up to 100m in an open space.

If you have a distance problem, you can pull an RJ45 cable or use a Powerline device to connect through your home’s electrical network.

2. Connect the power ⚡

Connect the USB cable (supplied) to power your WineSupervisor.

You must also turn on the air conditioning unit to be connected.

3. Start synchronization 📡

On the WineSupervisor: press the button located at the end of the box for 6 seconds.

The status LED turns orange 🟠

4. Pair the air conditioner 🍷

Go to the LED indications on the control box or directly on the front of your device.

Using a tip, press the synchronization button for 6 seconds located directly next to the LEDs.

The status LED turns red 🔴 or green 🟢

5. Complete the synchronization 😀

From the remote control, press RETURN for 6 seconds ↩

If the screen displays INIt rF you can validate with OK

Your cellar is almost ready!

Some technical details for the implementation

There are 2 situations for the OFFLINE status:

• “Loss of radio communication from WineSupervisor”
  • The box is too far from the cellar and cannot communicate. This is often due to the configuration of the premises: If you have a problem with the distance, move your WineSupervisor closer to the cellar and pull an RJ45 cable or use a Poweline device for a connection through the electrical network of the house.
  • The box is not synchronized with the air conditioner. This sometimes happens after a RESET of the air conditioner. You must then follow the synchronization steps.

• “Loss of Internet connection from WineSupervisor”
  • Your network is no longer connected to the Internet: check your modem.
  • Your internet or electrical network has suffered disturbances: restart your WineSupervisor by disconnecting it electrically for a few seconds then reconnecting it – you should return to ONLINE status after a few minutes of operation.

1. The WineSupervisor is well synchronized with the air conditioner (green status LED ◙ + no ArF alarm on the remote control)
2. Your network is correctly connected to the internet (see supplier box / modem)
3. You have connected the RJ45 cable to the network before connecting the power supply to the WineSupervisor (steps 1 and 2 of the installation guide)

After these steps you still do not have access to your cellar? >> You may have a personalized configuration in place on your network: contact your IT service provider – traditional internet service providers do not block the system.

To operate the WineSupervisor uses an outgoing protocol on ports TCP 7979 and TCP 7978 – your service provider may need to open these ports. We are able to assist you if the network allows your WineSupervisor to access the internet.

When the WineSupervisor is ONLINE, you receive up-to-date information on the cellar atmosphere and the operating status of the air conditioner every minute. (If the WineSupervisor displays an OFFLINE status, you may need to perform an action on the box)

Once connected to your cellar, the screen is divided into 2 parts:

• LIVE information on the upper part (portrait mode on mobile):
  • Observed temperature and setpoint
  • Observed humidity and setpoint *
  • Device Status (Normal / Standby / Defrost / Security Mode)
  • Operating status of the various elements (Compressor / Heating / Humidifier)

Understanding the curves:

The curve display, in Easy or Expert mode, represents the regulation cycles of the device. By reading it in depth, it is possible to find the different operating states and to demonstrate the good conservation of the wines in the cellar.

A technician will be able to use this history to make diagnostics and identify the important stages of the air conditioners – such as defrost for example – thus facilitating maintenance operations.

The successive waves shown on the screen are completely normal and attest to the good health of the air conditioner: the operation of a regulation cycle is based on activating the air conditioner to always remain within a range of + 1 ° C from the setpoint on the temperature probe: the variation of + 1 ° C on the probe is not significant for the cellar or its wines due to the thermal inertia of the bottles and elements present in the room. This strategy makes it possible in particular to increase the lifespan of the device as well as its energy efficiency without taking any risk for the bottles.

Understanding energy efficiency :

The energy efficiency display is mainly the indicator of the good insulation of the cellar and can help to check the correct sizing of the air conditioner. This calculation takes into account the operating time (cooling and heating) of the devices over the last 24 hours – the indicator will be green for normal daily operation.

On wireless controls, press and hold ● until “off” appears on the remote control. The air conditioning stops working but the management of the crankcase resistance is maintained.

Two cases may occur:

1) The fault appears and none of the following actions make it disappear:
– Refreshment by validating OK
– Stop and start ON / OFF
– Power failure and power on

Check all probe connections to see if a wire is unplugged.
If the device does not start contact your installer to change the probe.

2) The fault appears randomly and disappears during a refresh or during one of the operations (ON / OFF, Power failure, Reset …)

On the splits system, the probe is connected via an RJ45 cable. It is important that this cable is the one supplied (length 5m), that it is not wound on itself and does not pass near the power cables.
You have the option to disassemble the probe to replace it elsewhere in the wine cellar.

Still in default?
So, the hypothesis of a false contact is most likely meticulously check by manipulating all the connections the probe / card path.

Check the temperature with a thermometer to know the actual temperature of your cellar.

Genesis Models: Cold Operation Only

The compressor is stopped. the cellar naturally descends in temperature. The outside temperature is too low and the insulation of your cellar may not be good enough. We advise you to see to improve the insulation or to pass on a Vintage model.

The temperature is lower than the set point and the compressor runs continuously. There may be a problem with the control board or the settings have been changed.
You can reset with the remote control to reset the factory settings. If there is no improvement, contact your installer.

For vintage models: Cold, warm and humidification operation

The heating mode icon indicates that your unit has switched to heating.
-Check that the evaporator fan is on and that the heater is heating up. if this is the case it is possible that the power is not sufficient: strengthen the insulation of your cellar.
-The fan or heating resistor does not work, contact your installer to check the power supply of the components.

In the case of parts replacement, make your request by noting the model and serial number of the unit.
